The Manager will provide guidance and direction regarding the interpretation, administration and implementation of human resource policies, procedures, Collective Agreements in a multi-unionized environment. The Manager actively promotes and supports the effective management of the Abbotsford School Districts’ workforce by creating strategic business partnerships with client groups in a variety of schools and service areas.  This position includes following aspects of Human Resources:

HR Advising

Building Strategic Relationships

Employee and Labour Relations

Staffing, Recruitment and Selection

Compensation and Benefits Administration

Attendance and Sick Leave Management

Job Design, Evaluation and Performance Management

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and 5 years’ experience as a Human Resources generalist (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which includes working in a multi-unionized environment). 


Considerable knowledge and experience in recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits administration, employee and labour relations including resolving grievances, job evaluation, performance and attendance management, conflict resolution, workforce planning, collective agreement interpretation, Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation. Experience managing the grievance resolution process. Proven ability to deal tactfully and decisively with sensitive client issues while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and confidentiality.


A certified Charted Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is desirable.
