Celebrating Janice Scheer

Janice Scheer has been a difference maker since 1991 when she opened up Small Beginnings Preschool in Langley, BC and later moved her business to Aberdeen Elementary, where she has been for almost 20 years, teaching and educating three and four-year-old children. She has been an integral part of the school community and has worked alongside our Kindergarten teachers at the school to align her curriculum to the kindergarten curriculum.

She makes the transition from preschool to the school system seamless. She integrates the 3 and 4-year-old students in the school through special activities such as buddy reading and art activities. It was through Janice’s leadership with the school, when Aberdeen started to have multiple literacy nights in the evening throughout the year. Aberdeen has several Literacy (or Ready, Set, Learn) evenings that promote literacy, the arts, and connectedness to the school.

Janice is in her final year as the preschool coordinator at Aberdeen and is retiring at the end of the year. She has left a lasting impression on all the students that have gone through her program and has helped build a positive learning environment within the Aberdeen community. Congratulations Janice on being such a difference maker over the last 28 years as an early childhood educator.
