Celebrating Stephanie Doan

November 24, 2022

At Abbotsford Senior Secondary School, our Career Aide, Stephanie Doan, has made a difference since 1991. Stephanie advises all of our students in Grades 9 - 12 to help them navigate high school and plan their next steps after high school.  Students appreciate her vast amount of knowledge about post-secondary pathways and her willingness to do whatever it takes to assist students on their journey. Mrs. Doan greets every student who enters the counselling center by name and takes the time to find out how their day is going. She knows so much about the accomplishments of our students and celebrates and congratulates them all, be it a new job, touchdown, or goal scored. All students feel welcomed and valued.

In 1994 Mrs. Doan started the Woman's Rugby program at Abby and has coached the team ever since. Under her guidance, the team has won numerous championships, and several players have gone on to play for Team Canada.  Additionally, Mrs. Doan organizes the lunch program and is an integral part of our Staff Grad Committee, to name just a few of the many "extras" she provides at our school. Mrs. Doan is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.  She is an integral part of the fabric of Abbotsford Senior, and we are thrilled to name her as our difference-maker.
