New Resources for Employee Health & Wellbeing
Connecting the Dots: Organizational Health & Safety on SharePoint
Working in health and safety, I often wonder if our reliance on acronyms helps or hinders clear communication. Our daily discussions are threaded with acronyms such as WHMIS, EFAP, NAOSH, NIOSH, CSA, OFAA, PPE, JOSHC, IAQ, WCB and of course OHS (or if you prefer, OH&S). I would argue that this dependence on industry lingo, points to the inherent challenge of articulating how the complex network of health and safety processes, work together as an interconnected system.
In answer to this challenge, the Organizational Health & Safety SharePoint site has been created to connect the dots and communicate all aspects of health, safety and well-being for District employees. Below you will find an acronym-free overview of the new site for your perusal.
- The District’s Organizational Health & Safety strategy is a system of integrated workplace programs designed to support your health, safety and wellbeing at work, and beyond.
- The new Organizational Health & Safety SharePoint site was developed to bring together all elements of this comprehensive system, for employees to access and explore with ease.
- Connecting a diverse array of health resources and strategies, this site enables staff to quickly access information on health, well-being and workplace safety.
