Preparing for a Successful 24/25 School Year
New Year, New Initiatives and Milestones
The HR Department has had a busy summer preparing for the 2024/2025 school year. Some of our key program areas for the year include:
- Recruitment & Retention
- Culture & Employee Engagement
- Wellness & Safety
Look out for new initiatives in Leadership Development, Employee Onboarding as well as Employee Recognition. We continue to monitor the action plans developed from the Employee Engagement Survey and plan to conduct follow up in the Spring to measure our successes.
In the last year, our team has hired 195 teachers and 155 support staff to the district! We rely on you to be our greatest recruiters; please continue to refer anyone who would be a great fit for our district! This year, with the support of the ATU, we will also continue the Uncertified Employees Teaching on Call program, with the number of UETOCs doubling to 50 since the pilot was launched last school year.
Finally, we are excited that SparkRock, our new Finance, Payroll, and HR system and Easy Connect, our new dispatch management system, have officially launched. We thank you for your patience as we resolve some of the access issues that inevitably arise during system management changes. Thank you to the system implementation teams in Finance and HR, who have worked around the clock on implementation and troubleshooting since the summer. As a reminder, SparkRock and Easy Connect resource guides and videos can be found in the Employee Toolkit. While you’re there, be sure to look around to see what's new!
We look forward to continuing to provide support and service to you this school year.
