Cybersecurity Matters: Training Campaign Builds Awareness Across the District
In today’s digital world, cybersecurity is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you're managing sensitive student information, corresponding over email, or simply logging into a school device, your actions matter in keeping our systems safe.
To help foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness, the ITC team launched a district-wide Information Security Awareness Training campaign this spring. Over 3,650 staff and stakeholders enrolled to build essential skills that help protect our schools, data, and community from cyber threats.
The training included four short, focused modules:
- Introduction to Information Security (~11 min)
Learn key terms and foundational concepts that underpin safe digital practices. - Data Privacy (~3 min)
Understand the importance of protecting personal information and the regulations that guide us. - Email Security (~3 min)
Learn how to identify suspicious emails and avoid common scams. - Phishing Awareness (~3 min)
Explore common cyberattacks and learn how to identify them before they cause harm.
We thank those who have taken the time to strengthen their cybersecurity knowledge and encourage others to follow suit. Every step taken helps protect our students, staff, and data.
Even though the formal deadline has passed, it’s not too late to complete your training. If you haven’t yet, we strongly encourage you to log in and finish the modules. Let’s work together to ensure every member of our school community is informed, empowered, and cyber-smart.
